Weekend Snow Event 3/14 - 3/15

Hello everyone,
As we enter the weekend, we want to get ahead on communication about this storm. This will not be the only communication, but we wanted to brief everyone now in case you do not see anything later, since it is a weekend. I do recommend you sign up for our alerts if you do have issues with communication on the weekend. Click this link to make that happen. https://www.speedcutters.com/snowevents
Looks like it is going to be our biggest storm yet this winter, with accumulations we have seen over 20 inches in spots, and difficult-to-impossible travel predicted. Please steer clear of our crews during this storm so they can get their work done. When difficult travel is predicted, we will also struggle to navigate our routes. In a storm like this, we do our best to back staff so we can keep machines out, but safely, our crews can only operate 12 to 14 hours at a time. It appears to start Saturday late afternoon or early evening and run through sometime Sunday afternoon.
Given the duration and accumulations, we will continue open-ups until the snow stops falling. Then, we will start full clean-ups once we are certain that all open-ups have been completed. If we get large snow totals, please do not expect your properties to be spotless any time soon. The storm that many are talking about will take us a couple of days to clean up completely. That includes plowing and shoveling. Sidewalks will be shoveled from the driveway to your front door as part of our standard service. Most shoveling is not done simultaneously with our plow crews going through your neighborhoods. Also, keep in mind that this is all based on the State and Cities also keeping roads open so we can get from point A to point B.
For your safety, please do not approach trucks, loaders, tractors, or any equipment while crews are working. Operators often cannot see you, especially in low visibility conditions. If you have something to tell us, we suggest using the communication system your property manager has set up. Know that sometimes our drivers miss a driveway here and there and we are human. We will do our best not to miss any and occasionally get turned around while doing repetitive tasks. We will be responsive if this happens.
If a car is left in the driveway and cannot be moved, that driveway will be skipped. Snow Patrol will be out in the days following the event to address missed driveways not due to cars in them, sidewalks, fire hydrants, and mailboxes.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work to keep both residents and the community safe. We appreciate your patience and understanding during winter weather. For newer neighborhoods, we also understand there is a learning curve.
Have a great weekend, and if I were you, I would plan on being home for a couple of days with this one.
